Another Baloch singer tortured to death in Pakistani military custody

The bullet-riddled body of a famous Balochi and Brahvi folk singer was found in Kanak, Khuzdar district, on Monday.Ali Jan Issazai and his student Shahzad Nadeem were abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies from a roadside hotel in Quetta on January 10.According to police, locals spotted the body in Kanak area within the limits of City Police Station, Khuzdar, and informed the police.

The body was taken to hospital for autopsy. “The victim was hit a single bullet in the head and his body bore multiple marks of torture,” hospital sources said.His hands were tied back with a rope and the body was handed over for burial to the family members in Basima.According to details, both Ali Jan and Shehzad Nadeem had come to Quetta to compose a new album for Yaqoob Music Centre Quetta one day prior to their arrest and disappearance by Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies.“The music album has now been released” said the relatives of the Baloch singers.The statement made by their relatives further read: “both men are government employees and are not affiliated with any political party or Organisation. In fact both are known as famous Brahui language singers”.It should be noted that its not the first time that a Baloch singer is killed in custody, previously a Balochi language poet and singer Faqir Mohammad Shahwani was abducted by Frontier core and intelligence agencies from Mastung later his bullet riddled body found.

According to the local sources another body being found from airport road Quetta on Monday.The victim was identified as Mohammad Ramzan s/o Nawab Khan Langove resident of Mangochar.
